Here at Threaded Wisdom Counseling we view obtaining mental health as an unraveling at first. We start by unraveling the beliefs that aren’t helpful. Then, we reweave a tapestry of being that is sustainable. Mental health is not the grasping for something outside of you, but a turning inward by rethreading what already makes you. Even though you may feel broken, we believe you already have everything within you to obtain mental health. Our work together is to help you see this too.
Through this reweaving process we find the threads that help you be the truest version of yourself. We aren’t building something new, just making something whole out of what already exists. This is the foundation of Threaded Wisdom Counseling.

Maddie Sanders, LCMHC
Hey I’m Maddie! I love working alongside people as they discover the tools they already have within them to live a purposeful life. Helping others form a healthy relationship with their mind and body is the driving force behind the work I do. I’m most drawn to supporting teens and adults healing from an eating disorder, disordered eating, or other body image difficulties. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, OCD, or challenges with the body, I’m here to support you in getting where you want to be.
I enjoy incorporating a mind-body perspective into my work. I’m an advocate for health at every size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating to help people learn how to be comfortable and connected with their bodies. Learning to reconnect with the body through the relationship with food, movement, and the mind is integral to my work as a therapist.
Regardless of the modality, my work is centered around the belief that through self-acceptance, mindfulness, and compassion, we can learn ways to be at peace in our minds and bodies.
Outside of my work as a therapist, you can find me on my yoga mat, hiking, or tending to my overabundance of house plants. I also love cozying up with a book and a cup of coffee with my husband and our pets.
